After serving in the military, I decided to pursue a legal career after my own personal experience with family law. First-hand, I have felt the many emotions and stress that comes with struggling through difficult family situations. While my journey to becoming a lawyer was less than conventional, I am proud to have the knowledge, skills, and experience to help others through their family law matters today.

I am a proud graduate of the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. Upon receiving my law degree in 2003, I worked with a few law firms and under some great attorneys. I learned a lot about the inner workings of the courtroom and how to be a successful trial attorney for individuals and businesses in Texas.

One day, I was sitting in the barber's chair and making small talk with others. A woman asked me if I could help her through her divorce, and I used that opportunity to move into family law and never looked back.

Since 2008, I have owned and operated The Law Office of James Giries. In more than a decade of private practice, I have helped clients through some of the most complex and emotionally troubling legal issues. Many of my clients are apprehensive about the future, and I work hard to help them alleviate stress in order to see that they can find their way to a better tomorrow.

"I find that an essential key to moving forward in the right direction, is to not allow yourself to be bogged down by anger, sadness, and regret."

When struggling with difficult family circumstances, it's important to remember that what you are going through is common- every person, every family, has its problems. There are solutions to your problems, and I can help you discover them. I am here to provide you with the guidance you need to make the right decisions to move forward with your life.

My clients know me as an understanding ally who listens and cares. Legal peers and opponents alike know me as a professional, courteous and formidable advocate for my clients, thus when I speak for you, your case is heard with authority.

It is important that such documents are well-crafted and can stand up to scrutiny. I apply acute attention to detail to all agreements and legal paperwork to help my clients safeguard against costly and avoidable mistakes.

I am not only dedicated to serving your interests, but I strive to help provide solutions that will benefit you long-term. Working together starts with a consultation so that I can better understand the situation you're facing, and you can learn more about how my experience can work for you.
